Auburn Mahjong Club and Auburn Needlepoint Club invite you to a special day of tiles, threads, and connection on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the beautiful James Cameron House in Auburn, Alabama.

This full-day retreat is thoughtfully designed for both beginners and experienced players and stitchers. Whether you're learning something new or simply looking for a creative day with community, The Tiger Tiles & Threads Retreat offers a relaxed, welcoming environment to play, stitch, and connect.

A Day Of Mahjong & Needle Point

What to expect

❋ Beginner Needlepoint Workshop

Learn the basics of needlepoint in a relaxed, beginner-friendly setting. We’ll walk you through foundational stitches, materials, and tips to help you start stitching with confidence.

❋ Needlepoint 102 Workshop

Build on the basics and grow your confidence with needlepoint. Continental stitch is the only pre-requisite.

❋ Beginner Mahjong Workshop

New to mahjong? This guided session covers the essentials, tiles, setup, and gameplay, so you can feel comfortable joining the table.

❋ Community Stitch Time

Settle in and enjoy dedicated time to stitch alongside fellow creatives.

❋ Mahjong Open Play

Put your skills into practice during open play. Join a table, meet new players, and enjoy relaxed mahjong games throughout the afternoon.

Attendees will receive a custom canvas kit, special swag bag, lunch/refreshments, and a chance at fun mahjong and needlepoint giveaway prizes!
